Types of Fishing

Lake Fishing - Try any spot off the local public jetties, foreshore or out in a boat. You are likely to fish for lake flathead, garfish, tailor(skipjack), mullet, luderick and bream. Check local newspapers for fishing reports. River Fishing - Rod fishing, either casting or fly will offer the angler success. So many rivers to choose from, The Mitchell, The Tambo, The Nicholson, and up in the High Country areas like Morass Creek at Benambra or the Blue Duck area where you find the Bundarra, Cobungra or Mitta Rivers.

Surf Fishing - Just a quick boat trip from Paynesville, about 10 minutes, and you can experience the thrill of rod fishing on the 90mile beach. Fish for salmon, shark, trevally or snapper, anything could be swimming by in this vast ocean beach!
