BOOKING PAYMENTS

To confirm a booking a deposit in the form of the $750 Security Bond is required. The balance of the charter fee is required 14 days before the commencement of the charter, except in holiday periods when the balance is required 30 days in advance.
On payment of the Deposit/Security Bond an "Offer to Charter" will be sent to you. You are required to read it thoroughly and complete the information requested, sign it where indicated and return it to the offices of Gippsland Lakes Escapes. If you do not agree to any of the booking conditions then the Deposit/Security Bond will be returned less a 15% handling fee.

SECURITY BOND

A security bond as per the rates schedule is required to be paid before the commencement of the charter. After the completion of the charter and inspection of the vessel the bond will be refunded less the service charge and any other charges incurred during the charter.

SERVICE CHARGE 

A service charge based on engine running hours covers the cost of diesel and operating the engine.
Budget for 1 - 2 hrs per day.

INSURANCE/ACCIDENTAL DAMAGE 

All yachts are insured for accidental collision, storm and tempest, third party and public risk. There is however a policy excess of 1% of the boats value. To minimise the potential cost to charterers a compulsory Accidental Damage Levy is payable. The charterers liability in the event of damage or an insurance claim is limited to $500. The charterer however, remains liable for loss of equipment: e.g. fenders, ropes, anchor, winch handles. etc., damage to infernal fittings and furnishings, and damage to sails caused by allowing the sail to flog in the wind. Damage or loss caused by negligence, misuse, operating the vessel contrary to briefing instructions, the operation manual or whilst under the influence of drugs or alcohol is not covered by insurance and is wholly at the charterers risk.

SINGLE SEX GROUPS 

We require to be notified at the time of booking if the group is to be all male or all female. Such groups, if accepted, may be required to pay an additional security bond.

PETS 

Health regulations prohibit pets on any vessel. 

CANCELLATIONS 

Outside of  holiday periods, provided cancellations are received in writing 30 days prior to the commencement of charter, all monies paid will be refunded less a 15% of deposit handling fee. During peak holiday periods all monies will be forfeited unless a replacement booking is made. 

NOTE: White soled shoes for use on the yacht should be included in your luggage.
